Emma Busk
LANTRA Accredited Bit & Bridle Fitting Consultant (Higher Distinction) through the Horse Bit Fit Academy
LANTRA/NS Certificate in Equine Bits & Bitting Science (Distinction).
Member of Dr. David Marlin’s AskAnimalweb Panel of Experts.
I own and run Celaeron Equestrian Centre in West Wales and have nearly 40 years of equine experience, including affiliated eventing & dressage, breeding, starting and training horses.
My motivation for studying bit and bridle fitting developed when a change of Bit for a particularly challenging horse prompted a huge improvement in behaviour, performance and well-being and ignited my desire to fully understand the factors that determine suitability and fit of both bit and bridle. Having developed a thorough understanding of the anatomy of the equine head and oral cavity, cranial nerves and muscular and myofascial connections, I employ this knowledge to remove bit and bridle fitting issues that impede a clear, comfortable and harmonious communication between horse and rider.
I work with combinations across all disciplines, from leisure riders to professionals, and am passionate about educating owners through consultations, talks and demonstrations that cut through the myths, marketing and misinformation surrounding bits & bridles. As part of the team at AskAnimalweb I contribute educational articles, webinars, podcasts and practical guidance on bit & bridle fitting.
I cover Ceredigion and surrounding counties, with appointments in other areas available by arrangement. I also hold clinics at Celaeron Equestrian Centre.
