horse bit fit would like to welcome and introduce sheila stewart as a consultant
I’ve loved horses for as long as I can remember but didn’t have the opportunity to learn to ride until my family were grown up. Since then I’ve immersed myself in all things equine and am now the very proud owner of an 11 year old Irish Cob mare who was the reason that I came into contact with Horse Bit Fit (HBF). I was very impressed with the HBF holistic approach to bit and bridle selection and fitting and even more impressed with the effects that the right bit and bridle combination had on my mare. My interest in the biomechanics of both horse and rider, a love of anatomy and a desire to work with horses and owners led me to qualify as an Equine Massage Therapist. It’s really satisfying to see how much difference massage and stretching can have to the way that a horse moves and uses his or her body. For me the obvious next step was to consider the tack that’s being used and in particular the bit and bridle which are so crucial to the comfort of the horse and communication between horse and rider. Away from horses my career was very much focused on a scientific and evidence-based approach to problem solving and I enjoy keeping up to date with the latest equine science and research and trying to work out how it can be applied to my clients as well as to me and my own horse. I’m thrilled to be joining the HBF team and look forward to helping my clients, both horses and humans, to a happier and more comfortable future
